We are looking forward to seeing you at one of our shows!
Yesterday was an awesome day here in the office! King Street Elementary asked us to provide professional development and it went great! We had a group of teachers come who are challenging themselves and their students by putting on Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar with get this: 5th graders! The students are super excited, some stepping out of their comfort zones and exploring their voices and others channeling their energy into acting! Our very own education coordinator Ian Driver was able to take ideas from the rehearsal room floor of professional actors and adapt them to be used with the students. He knows: Shakespeare doesn’t have to be dry! It can be fun and easy to understand, if taught in the right way! 3 very important aspects to remember about yesterday: Tempo, Weight and Blocking. If explained to students, from the beginning, in a fun interactive way, they ease the production process immensely!
The teachers are doing a tremendous job and we can’t wait to see the final results of the production as well as the development of everyone involved! Good Luck!!
Remember: “We learn more about each other in an hour of play than a year of conversation” Plato.
